A welcoming LIVE is not an unmoderated LIVE. Kindness works best when it has boundaries.
Before you begin, add a trusted moderator. Review your comment settings and create keyword filters for language you do not want in the room. Decide what earns a warning and what earns an immediate mute or block. You do not have to debate harassment in real time.
During the LIVE, keep your attention on the people participating in good faith. If someone arrives to insult, threaten or derail the conversation, use the platform controls. Mute, block and report. Protecting the room is part of the host’s job.
Do not read every cruel comment aloud. That rewards the interruption and spreads it to everyone else. Let your moderator handle what they can, then return to the music or conversation.
After the stream, take a minute to review what happened. Add new filtered terms if necessary. Check in with a guest who was targeted. Thank the viewers who helped keep the room constructive.
The Galaxy Room standard is simple: support the brave attempt. Critique can be useful when it is invited and specific. Humiliation is never useful.
No one gets to bully you out of your own voice. Build the controls, trust your boundaries and keep creating.
